Terms & Conditions for Commissioned Work

When you commission artwork from Step Into Life Studio, you're not just purchasing a product — you're entering a creative collaboration. The following terms help ensure clarity and fairness for both parties throughout the process.

1. Pricing & Payment

  • Pricing is determined based on the scope, size, and complexity of your custom project.

  • A detailed price range will be discussed before work begins.

  • A high-end quote will be provided at the time of deposit. The final total will never exceed this quote. If the work takes less time or effort than expected, the total may be reduced.

Estimated Pricing Examples:

  • Large canvas (e.g., 34" x 60") – $2,500 to $3,500

  • Small canvas (e.g., 12" x 18") – $300 to $500

  • Hats & custom wearables - $80 - $200

2. Deposits

  • For large custom projects, a 15% refundable down payment of 30% is required to begin work.

  • The remaining balance is due upon completion and before delivery or shipping.

  • Smaller commissions (e.g., hat portraits or small canvases) may be billed in full upfront or split into two payments, depending on scope.

3. Photography Fees

  • If you require professional photographs to be taken for use as reference material, an additional charge will apply. This will be discussed and quoted in advance.

  • You are also welcome to provide your own photos as a reference.

4. Timeline

  • Each project is unique. A custom timeline will be provided and agreed upon before work begins.

  • Most projects take between 2–8 weeks or several months, depending on size and current workload.

  • Rush orders may be available for an additional fee.

6. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Down payments are 15% refundable, as they reserve your place in the schedule and cover initial materials and planning time.

  • If you cancel after the deposit has been made but before painting has begun, full refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • No refunds will be issued once work is underway or completed.

7. Final Payment & Delivery

  • Final payment is due once the piece is complete. No artwork will be shipped or delivered until payment is received in full.

  • All shipping costs are the responsibility of the client and will be included in your final invoice.

8. Rights & Usage

  • I reserve the right to photograph and share images of the completed artwork for my portfolio, website, and social media unless you request otherwise in writing.

  • Reference photos you provide will never be shared publicly without your explicit permission.
